Production Blog: Review

 Last time we made some extra changes based on the feedback on others. Today we looked to fixed anything else we could. After looking over the film several times, we decided to change the font for our title sequence. We wanted a font that matched the futuristic and technical theme of the film. Before, we just had a pretty basic font. Another thing we did after discussing our background music was explored for better royalty free music to use. I'm pretty bummed out that the production companies we emailed asking for the rights to use their songs never got back to us. We still made the best of our options and we found better background music to use that I really liked. Overall, we are getting really close to finishing up. I really like how things are going and so does my group.

 One more effort of editing from me was needed for this project. I was tasked with applying filters to the film.  For many of the clips, I looked through all the filters the editing software had to offer. In most clips I wanted to use a filter that made the picture darker to show the mood in the bank robbery scenes. For some clips it was difficult to find a good filter to express what i wanted to express from the filter into the film. I think I found the right filters though. I believe i utilized them correctly as well. I also had to adjust the color grading in the film. This was a confusing and sophisticated thing I had never done before. So I went to YouTube to learn. After some practice of some other videos, I was able to color grade my film. I strived towards making certain pictures more prominent and bright in the film to bring out the energy and intensity that a action film has to offer. My product aimed to represent the complexities and struggles of being a teenager. The combination of lots of free time and financial incapabilities can put teens in lots of trouble or situations that they don’t think they would end up in. The film aimed to show the stereotypical chaotic teenage boys and struggles they usually encounter. The film emphasizes the issue behind too much free time for teenagers which can get teens into trouble. It is healthy for teenagers to have jobs, hobbies, or play sports. These activities keep teens out of doing risky activities in their free time. Another social group that my film represented was the socioeconomic struggles the teens faced. The socioeconomic struggles the teens faced prevented them from doing things that normal teenagers can do. This caused them to engage in dangerous activity in order to have the opportunity that other teenagers have. Production Blog- Editing

 Another day of working on our music video today was filming. We now have to edit the clips and put them all together after we've finished filming. It was a lot easier to edit because we had all of our best clips in one folder. One of the things we had to do was arrange the clips according to the plan. In the storyboard, we had previously figured out the order of the scenes. The music was then added to the video. We added the song pompeii to the music video's audio because that's the song we're making a music video for. The audio from all the other clips was then removed, leaving only the song's audio. Following that, we reduced each footage. Each clip was cut to fit the music and the tempo. We also cut it down to match the time constraints of the music video. We did this by trimming a few seconds off the end of each clip or removing scenes where we went out of character at the end of a scene and didn't stop recording in time.
