Music Video Final Blog

Overall this assignment made me learn a lot. I learned how to incorporate music with video. I learned teamwork. Me and my group worked together finding out what the best camera angles were. One of the most important things I learned is how much a filter can really affect the emotion of a video. The filter used in the video really brought out the mood and story perfectly. It brought a sad mood while showing it was a timeline of core memories of the old mans past. Overall, this assignment made me learn a lot about filming and editing music videos and it definitely brought me a positive experience.

Final editing blog

Today me and my group finished our music video. After we did our final editing we thought we were done but we weren’t.  We still had to add some final touches. These final touches included sound and visual aspects of the video. First off, we changed filters. We realized some of the filters looked weird corny and unprofessional. So we changed those filters. This took a little bit as we were trying to make it the best we could. I helped give input on the right filters to use in the video to match the mood. Overall it was worth it though because it really tied together our commercial. In some cases the filter took away from the true emotion of the scene. Then after all of that luke realized we needed the video to be 1 second longer. So what we did was slightly extend some clips. This made it so there still wasn't anything that isn't supposed to be in the video. But most importantly it makes the video long enough. Then we edited the sound effect that was used. We changed the audio

Another day of working on our music video today was filming. We now have to edit the clips and put them all together after we've finished filming. It was a lot easier to edit because we had all of our best clips in one folder. One of the things we had to do was arrange the clips according to the plan. In the storyboard, we had previously figured out the order of the scenes. The music was then added to the video. We added the song pompeii to the music video's audio because that's the song we're making a music video for. The audio from all the other clips was then removed, leaving only the song's audio. Following that, we reduced each footage. Each clip was cut to fit the music and the tempo. We also cut it down to match the time constraints of the music video. We did this by trimming a few seconds off the end of each clip or removing scenes where we went out of character at the end of a scene and didn't stop recording in time. After that, we added all of our spe

Today was another day of filming. This our second and final day of filming. We worked on several things today. One of the things we did was look over our shots from yesterday and critiqued them. We ended up reshooting a couple of them to get better angles which was my job. We also choose the shots we liked best that we would use in the video. After that we filmed our last couple scenes that we didn't do yesterday. We filmed zane in what was supposed to be his hospital bed. In this part zane is a old man passing away. In that part, Luke will be added a flat line sound effect. Overall it was another productive day for me and my group.

Production Blog- Filming Day

Today after school we all grouped together to start filming. We all want to do our best on our project as its very important. W Our main character/ actor was Zane. He is very good at expressing and acting things out so we choose him to be the main actor. He is very camera friendly which was a good thing for us. e first filmed scenes 5-6 because the weather was good and we didn't want to pass up on that opportunity. Then we filmed scenes 1 and 2. These scenes were the most important because they opened up the video. For the most party today i was finding the best camera angles for each shot. I think thats something im pretty good at. A lot of the shots we took took multiple tries. It was pretty difficult to get the perfect shot for each shot. After we filmed 1 and 2 we filmed the rest. 1 and 2 and 5 and 6 were the most important to us so we got those out of the way first. Next up we have to make some finishing touches and edit everything.
