Final Task Production Blog: Filming

 This weekend we followed are schedule which showed that we would be filming this weekend. Our group all met at the film site. We set up the filming set so it would be ready to go. My group changed into their costumes for the film and we were almost ready to go. We then spent a couple minutes discussing the types of angles and shots we were to use during the film. I am the groups cameraman so this was very important for me. Now we were ready to go. I got everyone into the right spot for the first shot. Then I got into my position and we started. We worked well together even though we made some mistakes. Sometimes I would accidentally shake the camera a little or I wouldn't really like the angle i was filming at. Other times the actors would make mistakes like stuttering over a line or going out a character. Because of this we had to retry some of the shots several times. We also looked over the shots and redid the ones we thought we could have improved on. When we were done filming we had filmed the whole first scene. Overall, we worked well together on our first day of filming and I think if we keep it up our film could have a lot of potential.

 One more effort of editing from me was needed for this project. I was tasked with applying filters to the film.  For many of the clips, I looked through all the filters the editing software had to offer. In most clips I wanted to use a filter that made the picture darker to show the mood in the bank robbery scenes. For some clips it was difficult to find a good filter to express what i wanted to express from the filter into the film. I think I found the right filters though. I believe i utilized them correctly as well. I also had to adjust the color grading in the film. This was a confusing and sophisticated thing I had never done before. So I went to YouTube to learn. After some practice of some other videos, I was able to color grade my film. I strived towards making certain pictures more prominent and bright in the film to bring out the energy and intensity that a action film has to offer. My product aimed to represent the complexities and struggles of being a teenager. The combination of lots of free time and financial incapabilities can put teens in lots of trouble or situations that they don’t think they would end up in. The film aimed to show the stereotypical chaotic teenage boys and struggles they usually encounter. The film emphasizes the issue behind too much free time for teenagers which can get teens into trouble. It is healthy for teenagers to have jobs, hobbies, or play sports. These activities keep teens out of doing risky activities in their free time. Another social group that my film represented was the socioeconomic struggles the teens faced. The socioeconomic struggles the teens faced prevented them from doing things that normal teenagers can do. This caused them to engage in dangerous activity in order to have the opportunity that other teenagers have. Production Blog- Editing

 Another day of working on our music video today was filming. We now have to edit the clips and put them all together after we've finished filming. It was a lot easier to edit because we had all of our best clips in one folder. One of the things we had to do was arrange the clips according to the plan. In the storyboard, we had previously figured out the order of the scenes. The music was then added to the video. We added the song pompeii to the music video's audio because that's the song we're making a music video for. The audio from all the other clips was then removed, leaving only the song's audio. Following that, we reduced each footage. Each clip was cut to fit the music and the tempo. We also cut it down to match the time constraints of the music video. We did this by trimming a few seconds off the end of each clip or removing scenes where we went out of character at the end of a scene and didn't stop recording in time.
