CCR Questions
Creative Critical Reflection
1.
How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does
it represent social groups or issues?
Physical activity and hard effort are promoted by my product. Because it is intended to be used before, during, or after physical activity, my product promotes physical activity. My product promotes hard work because advertising with the product depict athletes working really hard to reach their goals while still drinking Gatorade. The societal message conveyed by my product is that perseverance pays rewards.
2. How does your product engage with
audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?
My product keeps audiences engaged by hooking them early and keeping them entertained. This was accomplished by the early introduction of the product as well as the use of music. Furthermore, the link between sports and Gatorade engages the viewer right away by demonstrating the product's purpose. Also, because sports are a focus of what Gatorade represents, folks who enjoy watching sports may be even more engaged with our product. This leads to how I envision my advertisement being distributed. My product would most likely be distributed to sports networks, notably football media or stations, because these viewers are the most likely to be interested in it.
3.
How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
I believe that my production abilities improved as a result of this project because it provided me with more experience in the area and gave me a taste of what it's like to be a part of a film or production. I had little to no expertise with filmmaking or producing before embarking on this endeavor. This has increased the value of this experience for me because I am more familiar with production and now understand what it is like to be a part of one. I've learnt the principles of filmmaking, acting, and editing, which I believe will be quite useful in future projects. I also obtained experience with editing programs like iMovie. I am very satisfied with how my commercial ended up especially with this being my first production.
4.
How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this
project?
I integrated technologies in many aspects of my commercial. To assist in the creation of my project, I used various tools on my iPhone, including the camera and the editing app iMovie. I used half zoom and brightness and contrast enhancements in the camera app on my iPhone. I also used iMovie to edit and incorporate features. To aid in the appeal of the commercial, I integrated music, generated seamless transitions, and cut down videos. This helped maintain our commercial looking tidy and will help viewers engage with it.
